Student found dead at Dundee's Opal halls

Opal student halls, Dundee Police were called to the student halls on Parker Street in response to reports of a sudden death

Police are investigating the death of a 21-year-old woman at student accommodation in Dundee.

Officers were called to Abertay University's Opal student halls on Parker Street, near the city centre, on Thursday morning.

Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances but an investigation is being carried out.

An Abertay spokesman said everyone at the university was "deeply shocked and saddened" by the news.

He added: "We're taking steps to provide staff and students affected by it with any support and counselling they need."
