Dundee fire crews battle blaze in 30 tonnes of rubbish

Firefighters are battling a blaze in 30 tonnes of rubbish at a Dundee industrial estate.

Three units from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended at the Wester Gourdie industrial estate after the fire broke out in a large shed containing general waste.

The alarm was raised at 15:37.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus were using hose jets to contain the flames, with clouds of thick black smoke visible across the north of the city.
