A corner flag taken from the Dens Park field during a pitch invasion after Dundee FC won the league has been listed for auction on eBay.

Two corner flags disappeared from the Dens Park turf when fans invaded the field after the club's 2-1 triumph over Dumbarton sealed promotion.

One of the flags has now appeared on eBay, and has already attracted more than a dozen bids.

The club is set to buy all new corner flags to compete in the top flight.

Dundee clinched the SPFL Championship trophy on Saturday courtesy of goals from Peter MacDonald and Christian Nade, holding off a late challenge from second-placed Hamilton who thrashed Morton 10-2.

A total of 10,700 supporters packed Dens Park for the match and thousands of them ran onto the pitch after the Dark Blues sealed the Championship trophy, despite pleas from Police Scotland.

The flag which is now listed on eBay is pictured being held aloft on the field, and also in a city pub.

The listing describes it as: "6ft tall corner flag with a green pole and red flag on top. Can be seen on Dundee FC website, videos and pictures."

The 13 bids so far have reached £41 in value.

Stadium manager Jim Thomson said the club would be buying new corner flags for use in the Premiership next season.
