Man found lying in Dundee street with serious neck injury

A man was taken to hospital after he was found in a Dundee street with a serious neck injury.

A member of the public found the 34-year-old in Blackness Road, between Abbotsford Street and Peddie Street, at about 21:45 on Wednesday.

He was taken by ambulance to the city's Ninewells Hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition.

Police want to speak to anyone who has information about what happened to him.

A spokesman said: "Police officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen this male or anyone acting suspiciously in that area or witnessed any incidents or disturbances around that time.

"Police Scotland can be contacted on 101 or by speaking with any police officer."

The injured man was wearing a light-coloured top and dark trousers.

Blackness Road was closed for a time while police carried out investigations.
