Man with knife steals four-figure sum from Alloa shop

Police are investigating after a knife-wielding robber made off with a four-figure sum of cash from a shop in Alloa.

The man entered the W&A Anderson convenience store on Pompee Road, Sauchie, at about 14:10 on Monday and presented a knife to the female shop assistant before demanding cash.

He was white, 6ft tall with a slim build, and was wearing a cream or light-coloured jacket.

Officers have appealed for witnesses.

Det Sgt David Ramage said: "Fortunately the member of staff was not injured.

"However, this was a frightening ordeal and we are eager to hear from anyone who can help us trace the male responsible.

"If you were in or around Pompee Road on Monday afternoon and remember seeing anything suspicious then please contact police immediately."
