Ride Across Britain cyclist seriously hurt in A85 crash

A cyclist taking part in a national event was seriously injured in a collision with a car on the A85.

Police closed the road in both directions between the A827 road to Killin and the A84 at Lochearnhead after the crash just after 11:00.

The female cyclist was taken to Forth Valley Royal hospital, where she remains in a "serious" condition.

She was taking part in the Ride Across Britain cycling event when the collision happened near Loch Earn.

The road was closed for several hours, and traffic was diverted more than 71 miles while officers carried out investigations at the scene.
