Police hunt after attempted armed robbery in Dundee

Police in Dundee are hunting for a man who attempted to hold up a petrol station with a knife.

The man threatened a female member of staff and demanded money at the Shell station on Forfar road at about 21:50 on Tuesday.

The suspect, who left empty handed, was 5ft 7in tall, in his late 20s, wearing a dark hooded jacket with grey sleeves, dark jeans and gloves.

He was last seen heading for either Linlathen or the Kingsway.

Officers have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
