Pensioner dies after house fire in Dundee's Foggyley Gardens
A pensioner has died following a house fire in Dundee.
Police Scotland say they attended the blaze in the city's Foggyley Gardens along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at around 6pm on Saturday night.
Emergency service personnel went inside the property and tackled a fire in the kitchen.
They found an elderly man who had died after "succumbing to his injuries".
Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service could not confirm any more details about the man, including his age.
A joint investigation has been launched by police and the fire service into the circumstances of the blaze and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The loss of life through fire is always a tragedy and it must remind us all of the need to work together to protect our communities."
