Andover Primary remains closed due to damage from fire
A Brechin primary school is to remain closed due to smoke damage after a fire broke out in a changing room.
Staff and pupils were rushed from Andover Primary at 13:20 on Monday after the alarm was raised.
An Angus council spokeswoman said a deep clean of the building was required due to smoke damage, and said parents would be notified when the school was ready to reopen.
Police and the fire service are investigating the cause of the blaze.
The fire service said there was "extensive damage" to the changing room where the fire broke out, while there was "significant smoke logging" throughout the rest of the building.
A total of four fire appliances and the command support unit were sent to the school, as firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose jets to extinguish the flames.
Specialist ventilation equipment was used to clear smoke from the building, while crews used thermal imaging cameras to check for any signs of the fire spreading.
