Appeal over car after armed robbery at Menstrie petrol station

Police are appealing for help to trace a red hatchback car following an armed robbery at a village petrol station in Clackmannanshire.

The robbery happened at about 22:00 on 28 December in Main Street West, Menstrie.

A man threatened a member of staff with a gun before making off with money.

The thief was described as being white, in his 20s, about 5ft 8in tall, and was wearing a black balaclava, a black padded jacket and grey trousers.

Det Insp Grant Sangster said: "We are keen to trace this car, which was seen in the streets surrounding the services at the time of the robbery.

"While no-one was harmed during this incident, we are still seeking to find the culprit.

"We continue to conduct thorough inquiries into this incident and we would urge anyone who can assist in locating him to contact police immediately."
