A woman is to stand trial charged with dangerous driving after allegedly running down a nine-year-old boy who was crossing the road with a lollipop man in Dundee.

Audrey Robertson is accused of hitting the boy on Byron Street, near St Peter and Paul Primary School, in June 2014.

The 49-year-old denies a charge of dangerous driving, which alleges she failed to stop for a school crossing patroller wearing a hi-viz jacket.

The case was continued for trial.

Defence solicitor John Boyle told Dundee Sheriff Court that it was not disputed that Robertson, of Errol, Perthshire, was driving the car, and said: "The issue here is the standard of driving."
