A porter has admitted sexually assaulting an 84-year-old woman as he wheeled her to the X-ray department of a Tayside hospital.

Albert Baker attacked the pensioner in October 2014 while she was preparing for a hip replacement operation at Perth Royal Infirmary.

The 67-year-old, of Perth, also twice visited his victim at her home and sexually assaulted her there.

He has been added to the sex offenders register ahead of sentencing in April.

Perth Sheriff Court heard the woman, who "did not keep particularly good health", was an in-patient at Perth Royal Infirmary awaiting an operation on her hip.

Baker, who worked as a porter at the hospital, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his victim while wheeling her on a trolley to the X-ray department on or about 2 October.

He also admitted sexually assaulting the same woman at an address in Perth on two occasions between June 2013 and November 2014.

Baker has been assessed by a doctor at a psychiatric hospital, and sentencing was deferred until medical and social work reports are prepared.
