Fears for jobs at Dundee building firm Muirfield Contracts
Fears have been raised for hundreds of jobs at a Dundee building firm threatened with administration.
Muirfield Contracts, which employs 250 workers, handed out letters to staff outside its city headquarters informing them they were to be placed on gardening leave.
Building union UCATT, which has about 100 members working for Muirfield, said the firm was calling in administrators.
The company was not contactable for comment.
Muirfield Construction has offices in Dundee, Aberdeen and Grangemouth.
It had previously worked on major projects including Angus Council's headquarters in Forfar, the refurbishment of Dundee's McManus Galleries, and had been working on a major renovation of the Meadowside headquarters of city publishing firm DC Thomson.
