OAP on mobility scooter killed in Camelon car crash
Police are investigating after a 71-year-old woman on a mobility scooter was killed in a crash with a car in Camelon.
Martha Tait, of Falkirk, sustained fatal injuries when her scooter was involved in a collision with a BMW car on Union Road, at the junction with Stark Avenue, at 15:05 on Tuesday.
The 66-year-old woman driving the BMW was also injured.
Officers investigating the crash have appealed for witnesses.
Sgt Alistair MacLean of the divisional Road Policing Unit at Stirling said: "Sadly this incident resulted in the elderly woman sustaining serious injuries that she succumbed to despite the best efforts of the ambulance staff in attendance.
"We are now appealing for members of the public who witnessed what happened to contact Police Scotland immediately.
"In particular, we are keen to establish Martha's movements on her mobility scooter in the moments leading up to the collision.
"Similarly, anyone with any further information relevant to this ongoing investigation should also get in touch."
