Cash and jewellery stolen in Dundee house raid

Police are looking for five suspects after a 32-year-old man was robbed of a "five-figure sum" in a raid on his home.

The robbery, which also netted a quantity of jewellery, took place on Forfar Road, Dundee, at about 20:00 on Wednesday.

Officers said the victim was left shocked but uninjured.

The suspects, who were wearing dark clothing and headwear, made off in a dark-coloured BMW 5-series car.

The car is believed to have had distinctive Irish registration plates.

It was spotted on Dundee's Kingsway at about 20:20. A similar vehicle was seen on the M90 at the Broxden roundabout in Perth at about 21:00.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Forfar Road or who may have seen the car later in the evening.
