Police hunt drunk man who grabbed child's arm

Police are appealing for information after a man took hold of a three-year-old girl's arm as she walked with her mother.

The mother and daughter were in the Lido area of Stenhousemuir when the man, who was sitting on a bench, grabbed the child'.

Officers said the incident, which took place at about 14:00 on Wednesday, alarmed the girl and her mother.

The man was understood to be under the influence of alcohol.

Police said they were following a positive line of inquiry.

Insp John Kellett said: "While these types of incidents are concerning for the public, it is important to stress that this was not an attempt to harm the child in any way, rather actions on the part of the male that were ill-considered".
