Man dies after being struck by train at Broughty Ferry

A man has died after being struck by a train at Broughty Ferry.

The incident happened in the vicinity of Broughty Ferry railway station at about 14:00.

Scotrail said it expected services from Aberdeen and Dundee to Edinburgh and Glasgow to be disrupted until about 17:00, with delays expected.

A spokeswoman for ScotRail said: "Sadly, due to a person being struck by a train near Dundee, some ScotRail services are disrupted.

"Passengers are advised to check our website or app for the most up to date information before travelling."

British Transport Police confirmed that a man had died and said that the incident was being treated as "non-suspicious".

In a message to parents, nearby Eastern Primary School said: "Please be aware there has been a police incident at Church Street railway bridge.

"Please avoid if you can with children."
