Gamekeeper Shaun Wilson who left loaded gun on hill is fined

A Stirling gamekeeper whose loaded gun was found on a hillside by two hillwalkers has been fined £675.

Shaun Wilson admitted a charge under the Firearms Act 1968 at the city's sheriff court.

The 29-year-old will also have his firearms licence reviewed by Police Scotland as a result of the conviction.

The court heard that the two hillwalkers discovered the weapon on the hillside above the village of Kippen on 6 August last year.

The walkers contacted police, who traced the firearm back to Wilson.
