Five to stand trial over ATM theft
Five men will stand trial next year accused of stealing a cash machine containing almost £16,000 from a shop in Carnoustie.
The group are accused of plotting together before allegedly stealing the machine from a Co-Operative store in Barry Street in February.
Prosecutors claim a hole was cut in shutters of the shop before a rope was tied around the cash machine.
It is alleged a Land Rover vehicle was used to drag the ATM from the store.
Anthony Conroy (29), Andrew White (27), Nanu Miah (27), Robin Vaughan (43) and Carl Cavanagh (33) faced a conspiracy charge during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Judge Lady Rae set a trial due to begin in January.
The case could last up to three weeks.
