Two teenagers hunted after woman, 83, assaulted
Police in Falkirk are carrying out door-to-door inquiries after two teenagers assaulted and attempted to rob an 83-year-old woman.
The pensioner was walking on Carron Road, near to the bus stop outside Matalan, when she was targeted by the youths.
Police said the woman was left with sore ribs after being struck during in the incident.
The incident happened between 13:30 and 14:30 on Thursday 9 June.
The teenagers assaulted the woman and attempted to grab her handbag but were disturbed by two passersby.
The first suspect was described as being white, 13 or 14-years-old, white, of slim build, about 5ft 3in, with dark brown short hair.
He was possibly wearing a denim jacket.
The second suspect was also white, aged 15 or 16-years-old, slim built, around 5ft, with light-coloured short hair.
Det Sgt Johnny Dreczkowski, of Falkirk CID, said: "We are especially keen to speak to the two men who helped this woman, and I'd ask them to contact us.
"We'd also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any relevant information."
