Eight people have been charged with drug-related offences following a series of police raids in Tayside.

Officers carried out controlled search warrants at addresses in Dundee, Perth and Arbroath as part of Operation Slate.

About £6,500 worth of Class A drugs were recovered from two properties in the Charleston area of Dundee.

It follows the recovery of £177,000 worth of Class B drugs recovered from a vehicle on the A90 at Glendoick.

Det Insp Paul Riley said: "The action over the last few days serves as yet another warning message to those involved in the supply of drugs in Tayside.

"We will continue to target and disrupt their efforts as drugs have no place in our communities.

"I would like to thank members of the public in Dundee, Perth and Angus for their continued assistance in this matter as the information provided is vital in our continued efforts to eradicate this issue."
