Lifeboat crews have recovered an abandoned upturned boat after initial fears that its crew was overboard.

The inshore lifeboat crew found the submerged sailing dinghy from Dundee Sailing Club in the River Tay with its sails still raised on Sunday afternoon.

The dinghy's two-man crew were uninjured and had been taken ashore by the sailing club's rescue boat.

A Broughty Ferry RNLI spokesman said the operation was carried out in "difficult, blustery conditions."

The dinghy was later recovered and taken back to the sailing club.
