Biker seriously injured in Killearn crash

A 43-year-old motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash in Stirlingshire.

The man suffered "significant" head and chest injuries after his bike was in collision with a Volkswagen Passat on the A890, south of the junction with the B834 at Finnich Toll, Killearn.

The crash happened at about 17:00 on Monday.

The man is in a serious condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The road was closed for eight hours while police carried out an investigation.

Sgt Ruth Aitchison, of Police Scotland, said: "The motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries as a result of this collision and we are currently working to establish exactly what happened during this incident.

"Anyone who was on the A809 on Monday evening and believes they have information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact police immediately."
