Elderly couple targeted twice by thieves

A woman in her 90s disturbed the same two men stealing money from her kitchen twice in the space of four days, police have revealed.

The men carried out gutter clearing work at the woman's home in Larbert, which she shares with her husband, on 23 July.

After being paid, the men left but were disturbed later that afternoon taking money from the woman's handbag.

They ran from the house but were found in the kitchen again on 27 July.

Police said that following the first incident, the men fled in a small navy blue car.

After the second incident, the pair ran towards Bellsdyke Road.

Officers said the victim was only able to describe one of the men.

He was white, about 5ft 8in tall, of medium to stalky build, with short fair or red hair and of "dirty appearance".

The man was wearing workmen's clothing with a blue jumper, and blue trousers with several pockets.
