The next phase of a £5m upgrade of Dundee's water mains network will begin on Tuesday.

The work, which is expected to take up to three months, will take place in the Blackness Road, City Road and Lochee Road areas.

The first phase of the project is currently being carried out on Perth Road.

Scottish Water said traffic management systems would be in place throughout the work.

The company said the work involved the lining and flushing of existing water mains and residents would be notified in advance of any temporary disruption to their water supply.

Scottish Water's Dundee community team manager Ruaridh MacGregor, said: "While there will be some short-term disruption, we are doing everything possible to minimise the inconvenience, with a rolling programme of works which has been agreed with Dundee City Council."
