Woman pulled from River Tay in early morning rescue

A woman has been rescued from the River Tay in Perth.

Emergency services were called to reports of a woman in the river near Tay Street shortly after 03:00 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said the 34-year-old was safely recovered from the water at about 03:25.

She was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary to be checked over but appeared to have suffered no ill effects in the incident.
