Eleven people have been charged following a series of drugs raids across Tayside.

Officers recovered heroin, cocaine and cannabis with an estimated street value of more than £26,000 from a property in Dundee in one of the raids.

The raids were carried out as part of Operation Slate, which aims to reduce drug-related crime in the region.

Properties in Perthshire were also targeted in the raids, which were carried out in the past week.

Police said five addresses at Elders Court and Adamson Court in Dundee were searched and a 34-year-old woman and two men aged 43 and 45 were charged after heroin and cannabis was recovered.

A 47-year-old man and a woman aged 39 were charged after being stopped at the Broxden Park and Ride in Perth.

Supt Graeme Murdoch said: "We are focused on disrupting criminality and reducing harm in Tayside and we will continue to act on information you provide, to carry out searches under warrant to take drugs out of our communities."
