The Brechin Bridge has been closed after being damaged by a vehicle for the second time this year.

Angus Council said it was alerted by police after a road traffic collision on the bridge at about 23:30 on Wednesday.

The council said a bridge engineer would assess the latest damage and the repair work required.

The parapet of the bridge was previously damaged by a vehicle in February.

Diversions have been put in place from Kinnell crossroads (A933) via the A934 to Montrose and back along the A935.
