Arrest after attempted child abduction in Falkirk
A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged by police after the attempted abduction of two girls in Falkirk on Friday afternoon.
Police had been called to the town's Glenburn Road at about 16:50, after members of the public reported a disturbance.
The arrested man is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday.
A police presence remains in the area and officers have thanked the public for their assistance.
Insp Jo Jollie said: "We appreciate that this was a very concerning incident for the local community and we are treating this with the utmost seriousness.
"I'd urge anyone who was in the area around this time that hasn't spoken to officers and may be able to help with the investigation to contact us."
