Boy, 15, charged with attempted robbery
Police hunting a masked would-be robber who threatened a Broughty Ferry shopkeeper with a hammer have charged a 15-year-old boy.
Officers detained the youth following the attempted robbery at Premier Stores in Campfield Square, Barnhill on 13 February.
The shopkeeper was left shaken but unhurt by the incident and nothing was stolen from the shop.
The teenager has been charged with assault with intent to rob.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A report has been submitted to the Youth Justice Assessor for consideration."
