Police appeal after boy, 14, hit by car in Neath

Police have appealed for witnesses after a 14-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car in Neath and suffered head injuries.

The incident, involving a silver Ford Fiesta, happened on Neath Abbey Road near the junction with Dwr Y Felin Road at about 1730 BST on Tuesday.

The teenager was taken first to Morriston Hospital in Swansea and then transferred to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

He is in a stable condition.

South Wales Police said they believe there were a number of witnesses whom they urged to come forward.

Anyone who saw the driving of the car or the pedestrian's actions before the collision is asked to call police on 101 or contact their local police station.
