Two hurt in 'suspicious' blaze in Maesteg

A house fire which injured two people was started deliberately, detectives believe.

Both residents were taken to hospital following the blaze at the property in Maesteg, near Bridgend, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

They were suffering from smoke inhalation and had minor injuries, said police.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

The house at Heol Dyfed, Garth, was extensively damaged in the blaze, which was reported shortly before 0200 BST.
