More than 300 retail jobs will be created with the opening of a £15m development in Flintshire.

Developer St Modwen has handed over the keys to Morrisons supermarket, which is the biggest store moving on to Quay Shopping Centre in Connah's Quay.

The recruitment drive will begin soon as the supermarket and 11 shops on the six-acre site are due to open by November.

They include Greggs, Bargain Booze, Just Go Travel and Home Bargains.

Corbett bookmakers and a MOT testing centre are also moving on to the site at Ffordd Llanarth.

"This is a major regeneration project and a vote of confidence in our community," said Flintshire councillor Peter Macfarlane.

"I know that people are really pleased with the range of top quality retailers which the scheme has attracted and are excited about the opening."

Redevelopment of the site, a former 1970s-style centre, began in June 2009.
