Arrest as police recover firearm on Anglesey
A man has been arrested after North Wales Police were called to a firearms incident at an address on Anglesey on Saturday night.
The force said firearms officers dealt with a 46-year-old man, who was described as in a distressed state.
Police negotiated with the man in the Ffordd Penmynydd area of Llanfair PG until about 2245 BST, when he was arrested and the firearm was recovered.
Officers emphasised that no members of the public were at risk at any time.
Police had been called to the incident at 1944 BST on Saturday.
Part of the road was cordoned off while firearms officers and negotiators spoke with the man.
Police said the incident was brought to a "peaceful conclusion".
The man was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Firearms Act and is in police custody.
North Wales Police said in a statement: "Police would like to thank the public for their patience during the incident and subsequent road closures that took place.
"We would like to reassure the community that incidents of this type are extremely rare."
