Hunt after woman attacked in Swansea park

Police are hunting a man who attacked a woman in a Swansea park at breakfast time and fled after they fell to the ground following a struggle.

The man grabbed the woman by the throat after she turned and confronted him about following her.

Police said the assault at 0810 GMT last Thursday in Singleton Park was an "extremely frightening experience".

The attacker was white, about 18-20, of small build, 5ft 6in (1.68m), with curly - possibly permed - hair.

He was wearing a multi-coloured jacket and blue jeans.

PC Simon Thomas said the woman "fortunately was not hurt, but it has left her very badly shaken up".

He added: "I am aware that the attack took place in the early morning when it still would have been quite dark, but the suspect did have some distinctive features, which would have made him stand out, such as his curly or permed hair and the multi-coloured surf jacket."

Anyone with information can contact police in Swansea on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
