Six men arrested over Swansea sexual assault

Six men have been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in Swansea early on Thursday.

The men were arrested at the Travelodge hotel on Princess Way after an attack on a 22-year-old woman was reported.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who may have seen a woman and two men walking towards the hotel between 0200 and 0400 GMT on Thursday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Swansea CID on 01792 450618 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

The six men arrested are now in custody at police stations in Swansea, Neath and Bridgend.

South Wales Police said officers were examining CCTV footage.

Det Insp Peter Doyle of Swansea CID said: "This was a very frightening incident for the young woman involved.

"We would ask anyone who may have seen a female and two males walking towards the hotel, or saw anything suspicious in or around the vicinity of Wind Street or the hotel between the hours of approximately 2am and 4am, to please come forward with information that could help the investigation.

"I would emphasise the importance of any information no matter how small.

"A dedicated team of detectives are working on this investigation and we will not rest until the matter is fully investigated."
