Appeal after Wrexham mother dies in Malpas collision

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a 47-year-old mother-of-two died in a road crash.

Deborah Hewitt, from Wrexham, was involved in a two-car crash on the B5069 at Malpas, near Chester, on 16 February.

Mrs Hewitt was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital, but she died a day later from her injuries.

People with information are asked to contact Cheshire police on 0845 458 0000.

The force said the two-vehicle crash happened on Chester Road, Malpas, near its junction with Ebnal Lane, shortly after 2000 GMT.

Police said a silver Land Rover Discovery driven by a 42-year-old local woman was in collision with the green Ford Focus driven by Ms Hewitt.

It is believed that Mrs Hewitt was travelling to work at a nursing home in Malpas when the crash happened.
