Teenager charged over Cardiff attack

A teenager has been charged after a 26-year-old man was left critically ill in an assault in Cardiff city centre.

Police say the man, from Mountain Ash, suffered head injuries in an attack outside the Envy clothes store in Queen Street at 1730 GMT on Saturday.

South Wales Police have charged a 16-year-old with grievous bodily harm. He is in custody and due to appear at Cardiff Youth Court on Tuesday.

The man is being treated at the city's University Hospital of Wales.
