One dead, six hurt in road crash on A4119 at Tonyrefail

A 46-year-old man has died and six people have been injured in a multi-vehicle road crash.

The collision happened on the A4119 near Tonyrefail in Rhondda Cynon Taf on Thursday at around 1715 BST.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said the injured were taken to hospital in Cardiff and Llantrisant with a range of conditions, including leg fractures and neck pain.

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses.

Police said the crash happened on the A4119 between the Coed Ely and Glifach Goch roundabouts.

A 46-year-old local man was driving a black Ford Tourneo minibus north along the A4119 when it was in collision with two cars travelling in the same direction.

He was taken to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant where he was pronounced dead.

The road was closed for around four hours while police carried out investigations and recovered the vehicle.
