'Careless driving' plea in Hawarden fatal crash
A 41-year-old motorist has admitted causing the death of a motorcyclist by careless driving.
Philip Delduca was driving a Vauxhall Zafira car when he was involved in the collision on the A550 at Hawarden, Flintshire, last September.
Delduca, of Penyffordd near Mold, Flintshire, admitted causing the death of Russell Green, 45, by driving without due care and attention.
He was bailed at Mold Crown Court and is due to be sentenced in May.
"You had the good sense to plead guilty in this extremely sad case," judge Niclas Parry told him.
"By your plea, you will at least have saved some additional distress to the family of the deceased.
"But it is only right that before you are sentenced that the court should know as much as it can about you."
Businessman Mr Green, who was riding a Triumph Triple motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
He was married to Jane, had three daughters, a son and step-daughter.
In a statement at the time, his family, from Neston in Cheshire, said he had died doing what he loved and was "adored by his family and friends".
