Anglers airlifted after boat sinks at Caernarfon Bar

Three anglers have been flown to hospital by an RAF rescue helicopter after their small fishing boat sunk off the north Wales coast.

Holyhead coastguard said the 15ft (4m) boat started taking on water after hitting a sand bank off Caernarfon Bar at 1432 BST.

The RNLI Beaumaris lifeboat was launched and Llandwrog coastguard also went to the scene.

The three men were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor to be checked.
