Shed fire spreads to four homes in Lower Brynamman

An investigation has begun into a blaze that has hit four houses in a terraced street in Neath Port Talbot.

The fire started in a shed in Banwen Place in Lower Brynamman, near Ammanford, but spread first to one house and then three others.

One person was rescued from one of the houses, but did not need treatment in the alert, raised at 1415 BST.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it was not yet known if the blaze was suspicious.

Four fire engines were sent from Ammanford, Pontardawe, Morriston, near Swansea, and Neath.

Two crews were still as the scene on Friday evening damping down the blaze and removing dangerous slates and tiles.

A water bowser from Tumble, an aerial appliance from Swansea and an environmental unit from Llanelli also attended.
