Man, 36, dies in collision in Townhill, Swansea

A 36-year-old pedestrian has died following a collision with a car in Townhill in Swansea.

The incident involved a silver Mazda 626 travelling along Gwent Road towards Gors Avenue at 2247 BST on Thursday.

The man was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 48-year-old man, suffered minor injuries, say South Wales Police. They are appealing for witnesses.

Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who stopped to provide assistance.

The road was closed for about six hours while police carried out initial investigations.
