Firefighters are trying to divert flash flood water from homes following heavy rain in Powys which has also affected roads.

Four crews have been working in Cwmdu, Llanidloes, after receiving callouts since 1715 BST on Friday.

One person was moved to safety by a crew from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

Traffic Wales, the Welsh Government's travel service, says the A470 Cwmbelan bypass at Llangurig is partly blocked.

It says the road is affected by flood water between the A44 (Llangurig) and B4518 (Llanidloes).

One resident said road conditions north of Llanidloes are "extremely bad" with water coming down from the hillside.

Meanwhile, fire crews were also called to New Road in Newtown after two reports of flooded properties.
