Newport shooting: Darren Williams needed help - family


The family of a gunman found dead after shooting his estranged wife in a hairdressers in Newport say he needed help.

They say Darren Williams was suffering from the "traumatic break-up" of his marriage and "desperately needed professional medical attention".

Mr Williams, 45, from Cwmbran, used a double-barrelled shot gun in an attack which saw three women injured at Carol-Ann's hair stylist on Malpas Road on Friday.

His body was found six hours later at Brynglas woods in the city.

Mr Williams's sister Rachel read out a statement on behalf of her family.
