Big disruptions to Cardiff train services

Rail passengers faced delays between Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central after part of the line was closed temporarily for safety checks.

Checks were carried out at the Severn Tunnel Junction on Tuesday evening at about 17:30 BST but nothing was found.

Some services were delayed and others diverted while the line and a train was checked. The line reopened at 20:14.

First Great Western train operator advises travellers to check with National Rail Enquiries for updates.
