Police appeal after car overturns at Gabalfa flyover

Police have appealed for witnesses after a car overturned underneath a flyover at a major junction in Cardiff.

Emergency services were called to the A48 Western Avenue at the Gabalfa interchange at 03:30 GMT on Thursday.

A 25-year-old woman who was driving a blue R-registered Ford Ka was injured and taken to the nearby University Hospital of Wales.

Police say the road was busy at the time of the incident, which caused severe traffic disruption.

Officers want to to speak to anyone who saw the car being driven before the crash or who stopped to give help.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit in Gwealod-y-Garth on 101 or Crimstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
