Llanelli Asda fire tackled by six fire crews

Fire fighters have been tackling what they describe as a substantial fire at the Asda superstore in Llanelli.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service said the building in Murray Street was smoke logged when six fire crews arrived shortly after 20:15 GMT.

Crews from Llanelli, Gorseinon, Swansea West, Pontyates and Tumble were sent to the scene.

An investigation has begun into the cause of the blaze which has since been brought under control.

Smoke from the blaze was said to be affecting neighbouring stores.

A high volume pump and an aerial appliance joined the six fire engines sent to the scene.

Dyfed-Powys Police have closed Murray Street and were redirecting traffic from the area.
