Water bike crash near Colwyn Bay pier injures couple

A man and a woman were taken to hospital after a head-on collision between two water bikes in Colwyn Bay.

Four people were on the machines when they crashed near to Colwyn Bay pier at around 14:35 BST on Sunday, leaving one water bike extensively damaged.

A man in his 30s suffered a facial injury and a woman in her 20s suffered a hand injury and both were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd at Bodelwyddan.

Both water bikes were ashore by the time an RNLI lifeboat crew arrived.

On arrival the lifeboat crew found that an ambulance and local coastguards were already there and treating the casualties.

Holyhead coastguard say Rhyl coastguard team and Rhyl RNLI inshore lifeboat were called to the scene as well as the rescue helicopter from RAF Valley.
