Man dead, two children badly hurt in M4 crash near Sarn

A motorist has been killed and two young children have been seriously injured in a road crash on the M4 near Bridgend.

The crash eastbound near Sarn at 23:00 BST on Friday involved a Ford Fiesta and a Toyota Avensis.

The Fiesta driver, a man, 24, travelling alone, died.

A six year-old boy in the Toyota is in a critical condition, while a child, four, was also seriously injured. Two adults were also taken to hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses, including two female pedestrians seen in the area before the incident, which happened between junction 37 at Pyle and junction 36 at Sarn.

South Wales said anyone who saw the collision, or the manner in which either vehicle was being driven contact the western roads policing office on 01656 655555 ext 88-331, or contact their local police station or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
